Danielle came over on Sunday to learn how to knit, and over the course of 3 inches of scarf and 6 episodes of House Hunters International we discussed how hard it is to be a good friend. And yes, obviously, part of it is making the effort to call and make plans and find time and listen. But another big part is forgiving your friends when they disappoint you, when they upset you, when they don’t make the effort. None of us are perfect friends, and if we can’t forgive each other and move forward, especially as we get older, it won’t take long until we’re all friendless islands.
