I bought my tickets home to Arizona for the first weekend in July. My dad sent me an email back saying, “Great. We are very excited for you to be home. The pool should be warm by then.” First off: he obviously knows the real reason I’m visiting. Second: It’s 99 degrees in Paradise Valley this week, I bet the pool is plenty warm! But my dad (and many other Phoenicians) classifies pools as “cold” until the water temp reaches the mid-80’s, which only happens when the air temp gets closer to 110. I know, hellish—but just look at that sunset.
