I’ve been hiking three times this past week and have no intention of slowing down. I do really want to find a hike that ends in a swimming hole or waterfall, even if it’s a further drive. (There are at least 3 great summit hikes within 15 minutes of my house, so I’m a little spoiled.)
I need to get a hiking backpack, though, because I’ve been using a madras drawstring knapsack from Gap Kids for far too long.
Part of me says, “Just get a nice Camelbak, it’s expensive but it’ll last a long time and be worth it.” The other part of me says, “Bitch, you don’t have a full-time job. Get the $25 pink one with mostly good reviews and replace it when you have more money in the future.”
Does anyone have a recommendation (ideally would have a hydration pack but as long as it doesn’t dig into my soldiers, it’ll work)? Oh, and tips on great hikes (no pansy flat stuff, I want to be soaked in sweat with burning glutes at the end) near Scottsdale/Paradise Valley AZ are also welcome!
