I can’t watch the sea for a long time or what’s happening on land doesn’t interest me anymore.

This reminds me of the path between our rental house in Virginia Beach and the shore. Summer vacation (probably to Kitty Hawk, North Carolina) cannot come soon enough. C’mon friends, wouldn’t you rather go in June and not have to wait 2 extra months?

Don’t go in the water

I don’t care if there are sharks, I just want it to be summer already.

Shooting from doorless helicopters, this series has been photographed around the world from the U.S. to Brazil to Australia. From above, a simple beach or pool becomes a blank canvas that allows me to start seeing the world as art. People and objects become patterns creating repetition, shape and form. These photographs are a visual celebration of color, light, shape—and summer bliss.

1950s Inspired Swimwear

Amazing DIY bathing suit.

I totally failed to get a vintage-esque swimsuit in time for Virginia Beach. I have some mixy-matchy bikinis and a utilitarian Speedo one-piece, but nothing that will make me feel like an old-fashioned bathing beauty. Sigh, maybe next summer.

SO CLASSY. I would reverse my anti-Peter Pan collar stance if I had this dress. Sadly, the photo was taken in 1954, so while it may have been under $100, it sure ain’t anymore.
