The Signature Thing

This reminds me of the path between our rental house in Virginia Beach and the shore. Summer vacation (probably to Kitty Hawk, North Carolina) cannot come soon enough. C’mon friends, wouldn’t you rather go in June and not have to wait 2 extra months?

Sigh, Capri. When I took Home Ec in middle school, we had to do some project that involved ripping photos/ads out of old magazines from the 70’s and 80’s. I found a cigarette ad, for Virginia Slims or something, that had the tagline “She’s going to Capri and she’s not coming back!” And it was like the heavens opened up and a choir of angels sang out and I knew I would spend the rest of my life in pursuit of that Virginia Slims tagline.

HOLD UP I just found photos of the original ad (it was a whole campaign!) online—the tagline is actually “gone to Capri” which explains why I had trouble googling it before. Images to come.

It breaks my heart that I have a (non-working) fireplace in my bedroom but the mantle above it has been removed. It also breaks my heart that I don’t have this girl’s perfect ginger hair color.

I had a very serious conversation with Alex earlier about career goals. Well, call off the quarterlife crisis, I found my dream job! Going to send my resume to some cloud companies right now.
