Happy 20th Anniversary to this great movie!
Drove out to Apache Junction to hike Flat Iron Mountain, and at the entrance to the Lost Dutchman State Park the car in front of me paid for my day use fee. So nice! Then the hiking itself was great—I was a bit anxious because last time I tried it kicked my ass so badly I ran out of water a mile from the summit and had to turn around. But a month later, 15 degrees cooler, in better shape (much better shape?), and with an extra bottle of water, I kicked its ass. There were multiple groups of college students who ate my dust, and I only accidentally wandered off the trail once, which is a record for me! Here’s a picture I stole from Google images:
Character: Veruca Salt, Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory (1971)
“Snozzberries? Who ever heard of a snozzberry? “
It occurred to me that if I wanted to be Veruca Salt for Halloween I could probably repurpose a Slutty Mrs. Claus costume, then carry around a giant golden egg.
Hello, Halloween 2013 costume. I’ve been trying to get my roommate Alex to do a couples costume for years, since there are so many tall brunette/curvy blonde female pairs (Betty and Veronica, Aubrey and Marilyn, Kate Middleton and Chelsey Davys, Catwoman and her ambiguously gay little blonde friend). But I think Eowyn and Liv Tyler the elf is the perfect combo. Plus, I’d get to wield a sword, and whenever anyone asks me who I am, I could rip off my helm and scream, “I AM NO MAN!!!!” before killing them.
SJP in Hocus Pocus: Also on my Halloween bucket list. I was thinking that if I recruited Alex and Danielle to do it with me, we should learn the “I Put a Spell On You” routine and perform it on the L train—I bet we’d get a lot of spare change.
Cher is on my Halloween bucket list. And Dionne looks so perfect, too!
Oh my god. Someone went as Ryan Lochte’s Grill to Hallowmeme and I did not meet this girl and make her my new best friend?!?! There is no justice in the world. Look at those homemade Jeah sunglasses! The tacky bracelets! I love it! And really want to know what’s written below “Lochte Nation” on her t-shirt.
