Looks too freaking good. BUT—take the tails off those shrimp, please. It is one of my biggest pet peeves when I order a shrimp dish and the tails are still on. Like, yes, I really want to reach into my big bowl of pasta and tear those off myself.
If you were to create a fake newspaper for me, as a prop in the one-woman show of my life, or just as an overly detailed birthday card, or even a real newspaper called Julia Daily!, this is the sort of headline you’d put on the front page. But this time, it’s a real headline from US Weekly.
Three weeks after he drank and danced at a San Diego area bar, Harry — who arrived in the U.S. October 7 — has moved on to Arizona, and recently enjoyed an Italian dinner feast with his British officer pals.
Dining at the Little Italy Italian Restaurant — located at 502 E. Pima St. in Gila Bend — on Friday evening, Harry polished off an entire pizza pie (with meat toppings!) by himself, the eatery’s owner, Antonino Buccellato tells Us Weekly.
Clad in street clothes, the hungry royal — dining with a party of 29 others — was recognized by fellow diners, but was able to enjoy his meal relatively uninterrupted.
“The customers recognized him and they were talking to each other and told each other they recognized him,” Buccellato explains of his patrons, who were monitored by the royal’s security staff. “They were polite and no one stared.”
In addition to polishing off the whole pie, Harry is said to have offered quite the vote of confidence to Little Italy’s manager. “All I can tell you is that this is the best pizza in the world,” Buccellato — who co-owns the eatery with wife Maria — recounts the royal as saying.
I’m just sad there isn’t a photo of Harry shotgunning a pizza, Liz Lemon style.
Hangover Pizza (by Amuse * Bouche)
You know those mini pizza’s from Trader Joe’s? The ones that are about the side of a coaster? I wonder what would happen if I cracked an egg on top before putting it in the oven. I’m guessing magic. (Because lord knows I’m not making pizza from scratch after a night of gin & tonics.)
On Oct. 13, Domino’s announced the latest in its Legends line of cheesier pizza, which Dairy Management is promoting with the $12 million marketing effort.
Called the Wisconsin, the new pie has six cheeses on top and two more in the crust. “This is one way that we can support dairy farms across the country: by selling a pizza featuring an abundance of their products,” a Domino’s spokesman said in a news release. “We think that’s a good thing.”
